Snapchat’s design emphasizes immediacy and continuous engagement. While messages disappear, the Discover feed is algorithmically curated. Streaks and ephemeral interactions can reinforce social patterns not immediately visible from the outside.
How To Export Your Data
Step 1: Open Snapchat Settings
Open Snapchat on your child’s device.
Tap the profile icon (Bitmoji) in the top left corner.
Then tap the settings gear icon in the top right.
Step 2: Access My Data
Scroll to the “App & privacy” section and select “My privacy & data.”
Under “Manage My Data,” tap “My Data.”
Select categories related to viewed content, interactions, and search activity. Private messages are not required.
You control what is included. A more complete export of feed and engagement activity supports clearer visibility in your brief. If information is excluded, those signals cannot be reflected in the results.
Step 3: Choose Timeframe
Snapchat will prompt you to select a timeframe and confirm your email address.
After completing this step, click the “Submit” button.
Step 4: Wait for Email
Snapchat typically requires approximately 24 hours to prepare your export.
You will receive an email at the registered account address with a download link once the file is ready.
Step 5: Download the File
Open the email and click the download link.
Download the .zip file containing your data to your device.
